What is the Lantern Festival?
The Lantern Festival is an important traditional Chinese festival, also known as Shangyuan Festival or Yuanxi Festival. People usually enjoy lanterns, guess lantern riddles and eat glutinous rice balls, which symbolize reunion, harmony and prosperity. It is a good time for families and groups to gather, inherit culture and enhance feelings.
Interesting Lantern Riddle Activity Held by Senwell:
Many colorful lanterns and various lantern riddles were hung at the activity site. Everyone actively participated and discussed with each other, feeling the fun of traditional culture in relaxed thinking and interaction. Among them, one classic lantern riddle left a deep impression:
Riddle: One side is red, the other is green; one side likes rain, the other likes wind. (Guess a Chinese character)
Answer: Qiu (Autumn)
Explanation: The left side of the character is "He" (grain seedling), which is green and needs rain to grow; the right side is "Huo" (fire), which is red and burns more vigorously when there is wind.
